Pretty disappointing for a person who has eaten a real panini, plus it shouldnt take 25 minutes to make a panini, I was the only one in the entire place. no excuses.

Good food, location and coffee. There is also a pleasant patio for when the weather is warmer. They also have jazz on Thursday nights. I would recommend that they open earlier to accommodate the commuter crowd for coffee and muffins (a la Starbucks). And, for what it's worth, the previous poster was wrong about Peet's Coffee - it's a public company (PEET) and competitor to Starbucks, it isn't owned by Starbucks founder.

Inbetween fair and good, peets is the same as starbucks an over branded chain type coffee. I avoid both. Actually the founders of starbucks started using peets coffee in the beginning, and now Howard Schultz the original founder of Starbucks owns Peets!
I have been here since they opened. In the beginning it was a slow start but it became well organized. I spoke to the manager also (Blond Guy), very friendly and always there. The service was outstanding and the food was the best. I would definitly go there again. And i found out that they have private events and Jazz night every Thursday. A real good hangout place. Hope to see more business there.

Excellent coffee. Starbucks prices, but you get a much better coffee. Two thumbs up.
Comment on Taquitos's Review of Steam Eat
I've been there a few times now... they definitely had hiccups on the service side early on but the food was always fantastic, and I'm bit of a foodie, so that keeps me coming back. I love their Grilled Portabello Panini and their grilled pizzas, which are like what a couple of places in the city do. I spoke to their manager (owner?) once and he was very responsive. The decor is really well done, but I would be just as happy if the place was a dive and had the same food. BOTTOM LINE if you really enjoy good food, you'll love it.
